CAEDA/Forward Casper and the Chamber jointly hosted a meeting with Congressman Cheney at the Chamber Conference Room on Thursday, February 22, 2018, for Forward Casper and Chamber Business members and leadership. Congressman Cheney was gracious enough to take time during the Federal Legislative Recess to engage with Wyoming constituents to share important legislative progress, and more importantly, listen to challenges and opportunities facing Wyoming businesses. Regulatory burden was top on the issue list, with tax reform taking center stage for seeing more capital deployment and development early in 2018. The CAEDA/Forward Casper Team addressed multiple opportunities on behalf of its members and this region including: 1) Converse County Oil and Gas Project Environmental Impact Statement, 2) The need for more Federal Research and Development in Casper, 3) Expansion and development of the Department of Defense/Aerospace markets in Casper/Natrona County, and 4) Fostering Energy Diversification in Wyoming. Congressman Cheney showed tremendous interest and resolve in addressing issues and opportunities.
